Women focused during their workout


In a few months it’s going to be summer, which means we will soon start wearing our bathing suits and bikini’s again! I always like to get in shape before that moment, but now that all the gyms are closed, I can’t seem to motivate myself to work out. So here are some of my tips to you!

Do something you enjoy Working out might be more fun if you do something you enjoy. Maybe running is your thing, or maybe you like dancing. Some people enjoy to play tennis or hockey, anything that will make exercising more fun can go a long way into motivating yourself to work out.

Reward yourself After you’re done working out, maybe reward yourself! This can be done in any way, maybe allow yourself to watch a Netflix episode, buy yourself that lipgloss you’ve been wanting. Get yourself a healthy treat, like a fruit smoothie. This is probably one of my favorite ways to motivate myself to work out, it also leaves kind of a rewarding feeling when you feel like you really deserve something.

Put on fun music There are a lot of online workout video’s you can do, and another thing that might make it more fun is to put on loud music you enjoy. There’s actually an ABBA-workout video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr6WPH7CQm8. If you’re enjoying the music it can distract you from the workout it-self and therefor make is easier to do. So if you’re really into any type of music try to find a workout on YouTube that is inspired by that particular music.

Make an inspiration album Another great way to motivate yourself to work out, would be to make an album with the ideal body you aspire to have. Think about how toned you would like your stomach to be in a few months, so whenever you’re really not in the mood to work out you just look at the photo’s and maybe think well ok it’s worth it.

Ask a friend to join you Also a great tip is to ask a friend to work out together. You can motivate each other and maybe if you’re a little competitive you’ll be even more likely to do well on your workout! It can also make it more easy to keep up. Usually when you have a friend over you talk during your workout which makes the time go faster.

Create your own bootcamp Another fun way to work out can be to create your own bootcamp, you can do this in your garden or in the park and just take some home equipment and lay it all out. If you don’t have any equipment you could easily just take some rope, or fill up some old bottles with water and use them as dumbbells. It doesn’t have to be expensive or anything fancy, you can use the most basic equipment there is. So that makes it more easy to motivate yourself to work out.

Keep track of your progress Also, something that might help is to keep track of your progress. Nothing is more motivating than seeing your hard work pays off. This can be in any way, maybe look at your body measurements or maybe take some before and after photos. I do suggest at first you stay away from your scale, when you first start working out your body creates more muscle but it takes a bit longer for your body fat to go away. So at the beginning you might weigh more than when you first started which can be demotivating. So keep in mind it’s totally normal your weight might fluctuate.

Work out at the beginning of the day. When you work out at the beginning of the day, it can give you that satisfying feeling of being done with it and not having to think about it anymore the rest of the day. Like when you have to do some small chores you hate, it’s best to do them immediately to be done with it.

Get a nice workout outfit Something that might also help is to get yourself a cute outfit to work out in. Maybe it will make it more fun to put on your workout clothing and make it more motivating to get started with the workout you planned on doing.

Get it in your routine If there’s one thing I’ve noticed, it’s that once you get used to doing something it will make it easier to keep doing it. And I’ve also noticed that when I don’t do it, it makes me feel guilty afterwards. So, once something becomes a part of your routine, you will be more likely to do it.
