So as you all know at the moment we are in the middle of a pandemic. Because of that a lot of stores are only available for making a shopping appointment. I’ve made a few of these in stores already but it’s so stressful because you’re only allowed to be in the store for 10-30 minutes. If you’re like me and you like to browse and fit before you buy, this isn’t nearly enough time! So I have a few tips for you that may help reducing the stress and make your visit to the store more quick.
Look on their website One of my biggest tips would be to check out their online website to see what they’re currently selling. I usually add all the stuff I like to my shopping basket and then go look for it in the store. Some websites actually let you see if the selected item is in stock in the store near you, so that can also be really helpful! It’s a big time saver during a shopping appointment. My favorite store right would have to be Zara https://www.zara.com.
Look for photos of the store you want to visit This may seem a little weird, but most stores do have photos of the inside online. You can scan these photos te see where you have to be for example if you’re looking for jeans. This can save you a lot of time looking for a specific department in the store during a shopping appointment.
Wear comfortable shoes As much as I love to wear heels, they just aren’t practical if you don’t have much time. It always takes me 1,5-2 as much time to walk when I’m in heels. So I definitely recommend wearing shoes that enable you to walk more fast.
Wear easy clothing Same goes for clothing, if you want to try the clothes on it’s a lot more easy to do when you’re wearing clothes you can take off really fast. So very few layers, nothing with a lot of buttons to undo, or laces to un-tie.
Choose a day during the week before 5 o’clock Another tip is to choose a time during the day on a weekday, so not in the weekend. Why? Because a lot of smaller stores will maybe allow you to stay a little bit longer if it’s not too busy. Usually bigger chains, such as H&M, won’t allow this, but smaller more local stores might.
Call or email the store in advance If you have looked on the website and you know what you might want to buy/fit, another tip could be to call the store and ask if they would be willing to hang the stuff in the back for you. Sometimes you can also do this through click & collect but not always. Not only will it guarantee that the items will be available when you visit the store, it will also save you a lot of time searching for it yourself.
So there you have it, my best tips for shopping in a short amount of time! I’ve tried them out myself so I can definitely recommend it. Sometimes you just don’t want to order and it’s just easier to go to the store.
